Norwescon, here I come!

Today I'll be getting ready for Norwescon, a science fiction and fantasy convention up in Seattle. There'll be so many friends there; looking forward to catching up with them. My schedule's fairly light because I'm still recovering.

If you run into me at the con, please, please do say hello. These cons are important to catch up with old friends, and to meet new ones. :-)

Oh, and Time Twist and A Celtic Yearbook will be available in the dealers' room... in Book Universe if she's there. Also at the NIWA table, and I'll have a few in my trusty bag. ;-)

Here's my schedule... please do stop by my table in the autograph session, even if you don't have a book for me to sign. It's just a great way to touch base and say hello.

The Early Years
A few of our brave, thick-skinned professional authors will be reading from some of their earliest attempts at fiction. Grade-school assignments, juvenile fan-fiction, unintentionally hilarious short stories – see how their writing has improved, and what lessons can be learned from these initial attempts.
Jean Johnson (M), Mary Robinette Kowal, Lizzy Shannon, David A. Page

Thursday 9 pm Evergreen 1&2
Writers & Conventions
Why do writers go to conventions? Do you have to go to WorldCon or World Fantasy if you want to be a writer? What other local and non-local Cons should you attend? BONUS! With Cons come stories--let's hear the best and the worst Con experiences from writers who've been around the block more than a few times.
Lizzy Shannon (M), Jude-Marie Green, Amy Thomson

Writer Beware
How to tell if you’re being scammed or not when trying to get published? Sites such as SFWA’s, can help you with determining valid publishers, agents, etc. The idea of this business is money comes to the author, not the other way around. Learn when to RUN, not walk away, when people ask you for money to get you published.
Mary Rosenblum (M), Lizzy Shannon, Spencer Ellsworth, Keffy R. M. Kehrli
